Recently I was handed an old out door book shelf that had been weathered sitting on a deck in a caravan park for many years.
After pulling it all apart and machining it back, I found the timber was a wonderful mix of Australian hard woods. Which had originally been cut and milled not far from the job site years earlier in East Gippsland.
This office area is what the timber was turned into.
A solid timber desk top, over head open shelf / shadow box and a set of 2 file draws and 4 draws on the undersides.
To keep the costs down for the clients, the cupboards and draws were made from black birch film face plywood, 12mm.
All of the timber was sealed with a natural eco friendly varnish.
No handles used on the draws, just a 12mm shadow gap down the sides of the cupboard to allow for a finger pull and tidy clean finish.
Over all, a great addition to the new home build.
